About Course

This free appetizer course provides a hands-on foundation in Python programming, essential for data analysis and scientific computing. You’ll learn to navigate and utilize Jupyter Notebooks for interactive coding, master fundamental control flow mechanisms like loops and conditional statements, and understand the role of the pass statement. Designed for absolute beginners, this course emphasizes practical application through interactive exercises and examples.

What Will You Learn?

  • You will gain a foundational understanding of Python programming, with a strong emphasis on practical application for data analysis and scientific computing. Specifically, you will learn to:
  • 1. Set up and navigate the Jupyter Notebook environment.
  • 2. Write, execute, and document Python code interactively within notebooks.
  • 3. Implement conditional logic
  • 4. Automate repetitive tasks efficiently using loops.
  • 5. Utilize for loops to iterate over sequences (lists, strings, ranges).
  • 6. Understand and implement while loops for repeating code as long as a condition is true.
  • 7. Control loop execution using break (to exit the loop) and continue (to skip the current iteration).
  • 8. Use comparison operators (==, !=, , =) to create conditions.
  • 9. Apply if, if-else, and if-elif-else statements to control program flow based on conditions and more
